athiests and agnostics only please

why is it that i find the religious nuts? i mean having a good moral compass is a very good qua;lity to find in a woman but, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, these religions are not moral compasses they are routes to violence, persecution, intolerance, and genocide. in fact they are the polar to a moral compass. and i am absolutely dumbfounded as how followers to all of these said religions can follow a book written by a man so blindly, without question, and objection. i have asked the hard questions and the simple ones. but the one questiion that gives me the most baffling answer is " how can you believe every word you read in the bible/torah/koran without question. they were written by a man, if not by one man then worse, dozens. how can you put your trust into somethong like that. its not holy, its not divine. it was not etched into stone by lightning and brought down from a mountain. it has been written translated, edited, and misinterpreted for hundreds of generations. " they give me one answer. faith. and when i ask for concrete proof so that i may believe as they believe.... they shun me and quote some scripture. and they emphasize how gods plan cannot be understood by us feeble little humans. and how our human way of thinking is what prevents us from understanding. it saddens me just as much as it angers them.
