1. I like quotes. I find them very inspiring. One of my favorites is "He who begins many things finishes but few." - Proverb
2.
I like to do yoga and listen to music or books on tape, which I guess these days are called audio books since they really are on my PC and MP3 players and not on tape anymore.
3. I like Ayurvedic medicine because it is all about balance, a concept missing from Western medicine. Modern medical doctors seem to have this good versus evil approach to health, even naming things like "good fats" and "bad fats" or "good cholesterol" and "bad cholesterol". While all trans fats are probably bad because they are highly processed and unnatural foods, saturated fats really aren't all bad and neither is "bad cholesterol". Studies have shown that having too low of cholesterol can be just as unhealthy as too high of cholesterol levels.
4. I have always believed that sunshine is good for people, as long as they don't over do exposure based on their skin color and that sun screen is most likely bad for our livers. Recent studies show that sunshine in appropriate amounts is good for people, and is most likely preventative against cancer, especially breast cancer. Yet, I don't know how many women really have gotten that message. It is hard to reverse so many years of doctors telling people not to get any sun exposure and to wear sunscreen whenever they go outside.
5. I am concerned about our exposure to chemicals in our environment. I cook in iron or stainless steel pots and pans and store food in glass containers. Teflon coated pans are supposed to release chemicals and
plastic containers may leach chemicals into the food.
