When I first got into music, I listened to mainstream rock, whatever was the heaviest. Slipknot before they released too many albums was the pinnacle of that era. I listened to too much Slipknot and Kittie and Disturbed (man I'm glad my musical taste has changed since then). Then I got on the internet and went nuts finding trance and house music, dj tiesto, dj liquid, lots of crap from the dance dance revolution soundtracks. Also lots of weird off beat stuff that I've never been able to find again, like jamaican goat eaters or pine tree state mind control. I think somewhere around there I heard Current 93 and Nurse with Wound, which I still enjoy.
Fast forward a few years, a few computers, a few music libraries, now I've got something like 8800 songs ranging from bluegrass to rap to rock to noise to experimental to....I don't even know. beep boop stuff, indie rock, gangsta rap, straight up african rap, fuckin david allan coe, gg allin, leftover crack, the crystal method, I'm all over the place.
