Love songs when far apart Hey everybody. Anyone know any love songs you can hear when you are far away from your girlfriend whom you probably wont see for a long time? The songs have to be mellow and in some way classic. Preferable not rock.. but you know, mellow. Songs that makes you cry out your heart but still gives you strength and hope that she will be there when I return. Im thinking violins, acoustic guitar or piano or something like that.
Im also thinking of making a playlist with songs she can hear while im gone.
The only song I can come up with is Richard Marx - Now and Forever
Updated: Also Atlantic Starr - Always

Best of Me - The Starting Line
I really like the acoustic version, so check that out if you are looking for something mellow.

Quoth burtonair:Check out this playlist: The Layers Long Distance Love thats definitely a nice playlist, but its too much rock-like, im more searching for songs in the same genre as the two above mentioned songs: Atlantic Starr - Always and Richard Marx - Now and Forever however I must admit theres a few really good songs between those :)

I think I've suggested this songs on a couple of other threads!
But I suggest you check out Death Cab For Cutie's 'Transatlanticism', from the album of the same name. The music is how you described it, here's a taste of the lyrics:
"Most people were overjoyed; they took to their boats I thought it less like a lake and more like a moat The rhythm of my footsteps crossing flatlands to your door Have been silenced forevermore The distance is quite simply much too far for me to row It seems farther than ever before Oh, no
I need you so much closer I need you so much closer"

I was just thinking by Teitur. Be here now by Ray Lamontagne. Leaving on a jetplane by anyone. That song is great in any version.
