SoundTaxi opposing DRM! I guess that when I purchase a track, I should not need an IPOD to actually listen to that song. There are many MP3 players out there, so why should I buy an IPOD? What do u think about it and concerning the soft opposing DRM industry??? http://www.soundtaxi.info/

There are other two methods to bypass the DRM control. The first method is to burn a copy to an audio CD and then rip/encode it. Some software products take an even smarter method which allows user to burn music to a Virtual CD-RW disc and then automatically rip/encode the music stored on the Virtual CD-R. This makes the whole conversion process automatically and faster. NoteBurner [http://www.noteburner.com] is the typical example which uses this Virtual CD-RW drive method.
The second method is to use a recording software and sound card. TuneBite [http://www.tunebite.com] is one of the most popular software tools.

The best solution I have found is a program called tunebite (www.tunebite.com). With the method described above you may still run into issues. for example, with the basic levels of a napster subscription the songs are protected so that you can't burn them. Anyway, with tunebite, the song plays on your computer as the software records to an MP3 directly from your soundcard. I've had excellent results with this - sound quality is perfect. the only drawback is that the conversion is in real-time (a 4min song takes 4min to convert). A couple tips to remember - there are 2 versions of tunebite. the cheaper one is all you need (about $17). Also, when converting there are 2 settings -- do NOT use the digital dubbing setting. it converts faster but I get blurps in the song.

Noteburner, soundtaxi, tunebite, All of them may be good.......however, I recommend another program named Notecable, it uses a virtual sound card to record audio streams... And NoteCable can also converted unprotected music, I think it's better than tunebite which can't convert unprotected music, and what is more, tunebite need to install or specify lame encoder, the necessary thing for converting mp3, it may be difficult for newbies

The most powerful is http://www.tunecab.comTuneCab - media converter for DRM-protected or unprotected files for playing on PCs, mobile phones, MP3 players, MP4 players and iPods, PDAs, PSPs and other devices. It converts music, films, video clips, audio books to commonly used formats such as MP3, AAC, WAV audio, MPEG4, DivX movie etc, has YouTube Ripper and CD Ripper.
