Her current project, R-Shief , is a multilingual website that integrates open-source software in order to archive 21st century knowledge production on the Middle East and its Diaspora. She is also experimenting with a conceptual art project, the VJ Um Amel Remix Project. Shereen Sakr is currently Research Associate at UC Santa Cruz and teaching a course in Fall 2009 on "Collaboration and Creativity in Art Practice." Previously, she has lived and worked in Egypt and served in the U.S. Peace Corps in Morocco. She holds an M.A. in Arab Studies from Georgetown University, and M.F.A. in Digital Arts/New Media from UC Santa Cruz. [-]
