It snowed, really snowed, for the first time in almost twenty years here in South Louisiana. It seemed like a miracle in the midst of all of the hard times that have followed my family and I these past few years. It felt like a promise that anything is possible. A fresh start. So I went out to take a walk in the first real snowfall I've experienced since I was four. It was sort of like those scenes in the movies where the hero is walking out of the wreckage and into the light, only it's not such a triumphant or even positive moment, just a significant one. I just went for a walk in the snow, took a deep breath, and this is what I heard. This is what's been keeping me sane.
