FIQL Pick Art Of Indie - October 2007
[Updated on December 23, 2007] Some nice new indie music here. Brothers Martin and Pela are highlights for me.  1. Citizens of Tomorrow: Spooky and catchy. Love the clapping. [Updated on December 23, 2007] Some nice new indie music here. Brothers Martin and Pela are highlights for me.
1. Citizens of Tomorrow: Spooky and catchy. Love the clapping. We definitely could use some "robot masters" at this point
2. If That's the Case...: A little bit of everything from the last few decades.
3. Heaven: Loving the disco beat. Reminds me of the first place I won in a "Bus Stop" dance contest. Thank God there are no pictures or video.
4. Behavior Explains: I can't explain my behavior in not getting tired of this song. Sucker for a beat and 80's synths.
5. Cannot Get Started: My favorite new band name. While knocked for their drum machine like beats, I think they pull it together. How do you think Echo and the Bunnymen got started? Echo was the name of the drum machine.
6. Shades: Nice melody, albeit the jangly pop, whining vocals are not for everyone. I'm personally digging Landon Hodges voice.
7. Bones: I tried to resist putting this on the mix, but I couldn't help notice that my heart rate would go up while listening. The late 80's guitar and bombastic lyrics could not be stopped. Cactus World News anyone?
8. The Well And The Lighthouse: Angry and fun at the same time. Nice guitar work and a solid album.
9. Waiting On The Stairs: Heavy into this band given their solid albums. Like the country influence. An indie rock Old 97s.
10. Wet and Rusting: Atmospheric with many hooks; piano, acoustic guitar, vocal harmonies, yee haw!
11. Fake Empire: An anthem in all its glory. Quiet and powerful. Subtle and strong.
12. From Nothing To Nowhere: Pinback can be all over the place, but I tend to hang when they get a beat going. [-]
