FIQL Pick Indies Do Dance Parties Too!
A huge misconception about Indie / Alt music is that its overwhelming depressing; That indie lovers sit in dark rooms listening to the lastest Death Cab release feeling sorry for ourselves. But even Ben Gibbard covers Michael Jackson's "Thriller" at his live shows. Indie lovers know how to dance party better than most - and these thirty odd songs are proof.

With all respect, how is MIA indie?Reggae or hip hop,but never indie. And I'm not sure about Justice,Daft Punk and Basement Jaxx too.

I've always considered indie music to be anything not mainstream - that is to say bands who belong to independent labels, bands that are creatively productive and not necessarily financially lucrative. I'm not saying all the artists on this playlist completely fit that description to a t, but I'd say for the most part they do. You can look up several definitions of indie music and you'll find that hip-hop, alt, world, folk, pop, rock, lo-fi, new rave, etc can all be sub cats of indie music. I'd say especially Justice is indietronic music, a specific genre created for the crossover of electronic and indie music.
