Hoes. Money. Cars. That's what raps all about? A bunch of ignorant people making money for creating songs that mean nothing? Its great to listen to sometimes but it hurts the public perception about rap. Some think that this kind of rap has killed the hip hop culture. However, hip hop is not dead. There are still many meaningful songs out there that tell stories we can relate to. Others still give us a glimpse of what some people go through. Anyone can relate to talib's lyrics in "Get by" or common's in "the food". We get to see the reality of what some people are forced to go through in song's such as "little weapon" or the graphically descriptive "dance with the devil". Old songs about struggling to come up sung by rappers already dead. Theres not always a happen ending to these songs, but they're real. And today, there are still artists producing intellectual tracks, giving hip hop a bright future.
