[Updated on April 30, 2007] Like the celebrity playlists on iTunes, this playlist is what I would submit if asked to represent my tastes in music. They're more than some of my favorite songs, they are my drive of creativity, passion for music, and they just improve my overall quality of life I guess.  ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________  ... [Updated on April 30, 2007] Like the celebrity playlists on iTunes, this playlist is what I would submit if asked to represent my tastes in music. They're more than some of my favorite songs, they are my drive of creativity, passion for music, and they just improve my overall quality of life I guess.

"Hard To Explain" (Track 1): "This song has a way of making me 'flashback' through countless old times I was listenening to this song but just in different settings from NYC to Madrid"

"Unity" (Track 2): "To my close friends, this song would be a no-brainer since I've stated my undying devotion for 311 since way back when... This song also has a timeless message I feel is more and more pertinent especially nowadays"

"My Love Has Gone" (Track 3): "Had me fooled the first couple times I listened that it wasn't about a woman (but rather about drugs) but subsequently love it that much more"

"Hunger Strike" (Track 4): "This song may have come out before I was old enough to really appreciate what it meant, but it has grown on me tremendously. Plus any track with both Eddie Vedder and Chris Cornell has to anthemic"

"Tossed" (Track 5): "My summertime/tail-gate/poolside song courtesy Frank Black. Just listening to the melody complete with sax and subtle organ in the background always makes me wish for warmer weather"

"Only In Dreams" (Track 6): "I've listened to this song a lot during high school but it wasn't until I first heard this track covered by a classmate of mine in college that I really saw all the power and emotion behind its huge crescendo"

"We're All In This Together" (Track 7): "Of all the places to see him live in concert, I never expected to see Ben Lee perform this in Madrid, Spain and it was the most surreal experience"

"Pull My Hair" (Track 8): "This is the song that got me in Bright Eyes and made me incredibly more open to Alt-Country and reminds me of someone special I met in college my senior year"

"Lithium" (Track 9): "One of my first songs I sang-a-long to with friends before I even knew what it meant and for all the hype that Nirvana got and still gets, songs like these reaffirm why"

"The Guns Of Brixton" (Track 10): "I remember purchasing the CD in Spain and remembering that it was so expensive that it was 1 of 2 I had bought for an entire semester abroad - subsequently I listenend to this song a lot and remember loving it for all its nuances and timelessness"

"In The Fade" (Track 11): "If I were an outlaw biker, i'm pretty sure this would be my theme music that would play everywhere I went. QUOTSA are the best contemporary rock band currently out there in my humble opinion"

"Over The Edge" (Track 12): "Just a song I happened to stumble upon purely by accident. Beautifully composed and produced, it makes me wish I was capable of making such beautiful music myself"

"Where Is My Mind" (Track 13): "It somehow is still a college rock staple, yet for good reason and played it as often as I scrolled past it on my laptop screen"

"Heroin" (Track 14): "As the song accelerates and slows, I find that my heartbeat always matches the beating of the drum whether I can help it or not. Listening to it reminds me of how much my taste in music has been shaped in college."

"Fall In A River" (Track 15): "This was a difficult choice selecting one song from its album,The Hour of Bewilderbeast, but this song plays like from a storybook while reminding me of a close friend"

"Rebellion (Lies)" (Track 16): "I'd like to meet the person that doesnt' feel motivated to take on the world listening to this song. It's among the most spirited tracks I know"

"King Of The Rodeo" (Track 17): "I never understood how critics didn't see the genius of this band and if nothing else, for the fact their music just screams home-grown and genuine (for me at least)"

"Don't Look Back Into The Sun" (Track 18): "I didn't realize when I purchased this song on CD that it would be part of the time when I got stranded in a city with no way out. And then my CD player died and I realized I was really on my own...However, tabloids aside, Pete Doherty and crew really created a sloppy mess of a good party song"

"1979" (Track 19): "If I ever had a movie about my life, I'd insist this would be the song that would play in the closing credits of the movie or in a scene in which I was driving late at night. This song always puts me in a weird place everytime I listen to it"

Mama Told Me (Not To Come)" (Track 20): "Wow, I can't really get into too much detail why I chose this song due to the nature surrounding the situation in which I came to listen to it on repeat for 4+ hours. It's also one of the 1st songs I can remember hearing on classic rock radio as a child"

"Six Pack" (Track 21): "Black Flag? Why not Black Flag! I mean, they basically were the band that so many of their contemporaries idolized, as did I. This track pretty much breaks me into a mini-mosh wherever I'm listening to it" [-]
