A curious thing began around 1983. I was a precocious eleven year old about to become a handful of a twelve year old. Of course there was an obvious evolution to all around me from a much earlier age- but around this time to a soundtrack of that naughty Prince, and that new hussy Madonna- I began to realize my impish potential. After several ill fated attempts to "just have a little fun", I had an epiphany- I am pretty sure my mother's motto "If you know what's good for you..." was a catalyst. I knew that there was no way I was going to buckle down and tow the line- what a bore! And I never got a charge out of the rebellious aspect of anything I wanted to do- I was too self absorbed to imagine or care about how other people would feel about my adventures. So I arranged a sit down meeting between the angel and devil residing on my shoulders. Forging ahead from that meeting- my role that Sister Pat so appropriately named "Angel With A Crooked Halo" took shape. Thus armed with an inquisitive mind, big, blue eyes, loud laugh, and the rump shaking rhythm of a Zulu- I began to talk my way into dance clubs. I remember having my own little spot near the DJ and getting lost in the music of the mid-80s. I was in my element- and have loved the dance floor ever since.
