The (much anticipated?) sequel. Filled with as much heart as the first but with a strange new light shed on it's waves of musical brooding: Hope. A hope that you can't put a finger on, but persists nonetheless. This is the light at the end of the tunnel. This is the expectation of the sun rising over the next hill. This is a peek of blue sky in a day of gloomy drizzle. Now don't get the wrong idea. You're still in a long, dark tunnel. You're still in the darkness of night. You're still in the middle of a gray, rainy day. But there is something coming... you can feel it. This mix is the searching for that something.
Once again, I've restricted the playlist length to fit neatly on a standard 80min CD-R so you can burn it, stick it in your car, and go. It loops very nicely from the last song right back to the first so you can just keep it on repeat and stay in that thoughtful mood. The sounds are similar to the first, but slightly different. Less emphasis on electronic music, more guitar-driven sounds than before, even a slight mix of mellow hip-hop (Ceschi and DJ Shadow) to stir things up a bit. And being that his turned out to be a more hopeful mix than the first, you will find some surprisingly up-beat/louder/positive sounds coming out of some of these tracks, or at least in the crescendo of the chorus. So listen away, my friend. And feel.
