Hell, it was only a matter of time before I jumped on the bandwagon as well. Songs to make love to, songs to screw to, songs to love each other to it's all the same thing. Admit it or not, there's a hell of a lot of people out there trying to find the perfect makin' love playlist, something to show their signifigant other "I'm not just sexy, my tastes in music are too. Now let's do it."
These songs are personal to me, as are the other bajillion are I bet on everyone elses love playlists on this site. Certian moments correspond with certian songs, hell I've had my fair share of love to these songs.
My whole premise behind this one is to start off slow, work up to a higher tempo and then back down to a slow transcending sound. These songs aren't anything dirty as well, they're more sensual and beautiful at anything.
We start off with Lover's Spit by Broken Social Scene, and for any torontonian or canadian who hasn't heard of them. Please find yourself a rope, tie a knot, hang it from somewhere secure,(like a barn rafter) insert neck inside, and then ponder how pointless your life is for not knowing Jason Collett and the rest of the very greatness of Toronto's independant music scene. The song being about "lover's spit" pretty much speaks for itself.

Next is a pretty well known and acclaimed song, by a man who's been made famous by a certian beer commercial. Chris Issak denounces what a wicked game she played on him, making him fall in love. That's just what this song will do to you.

Do I make you crazy? one of those things that might be said while in bed. However Gnarls Barkley, the collective talents of DJ Danger Mouse (Brian Burton)Cee-Lo (Thomas Callaway) are enough to drive me past insanity. As I hope his voice and sound will do to, because, who dosen't like a little crazy?

Interpol's Public Pervert. It might not be the most familiar song to many of you but it's a great plead for love and the return of it. As a little sampler the chorus:
So swoon baby starry nights
May our bodies remain
As deep we move, I'll feed you light, baby
May our bodies remain
Oh yeah in history, I'll treat you right, baby
I am honest that way, hey

Candy says by the velvet underground has to be, in my mind one of the most passionate songs out there with it's subtle soft singing by lou reed and it's quiet guitar plucking in the back. The song might be about a transvestite who's uncomfortable in her body but are you really paying attention to the words when it comes down to it?

Laid by Matt Nathanson, the little speck of something else in my playlist. Many of you might know it better as the song from American Wedding "this bed is on fire with passionate love/ the neighbours complaining 'bout the noises above/but she only comes when she's on top"
It ain't the most soothing barry white feelin' but it's when the mood get's faster, a bit more fun and a whole lot funnier.

Some people say what happened in the 80's should stay in the 80's. Remember kids, those are the people who were losers during the eighties. With the revival of Echo and the Bunnymen's popularity with the release of the movie Donnie Darko, they're sound is slowly coming back to life. Lips like sugar plays a very personal note for me, and it's climax at the chorus when Ian McCulloch yells out Lips Like sugar always makes me feel good.

These last two songs slowly unwind the night, Wolfman feat. Pete Doherty (formely of the Libertines and presently of Babyshambles) is a duet that kind of boggled me at first. Didn't think ol' tabloid Petey would do something like that, making a nice slow song like that, but hey that's why you shouldn't do drugs...or date kate moss....leave her for me.

and the last song on this list is love and some verses by country alt/folk rockers Iron and Wine. After their release of Woman King, they gained a bit of cred with the mainstream but their sound has stayed the same. Look for them in my other playlists, they always have a song here and there. Being the last song, it has an uppity end to get you to get out of bed, throw your pants on and head on out. Or make some eggs 'n bacon. Whatever you prefer.

And so you have it. My take on the "doing it" craze sweeping playlist making, thanks and sweet love for ya'll. [-]
