I wouldn't say it's "the" song of the Red Sox. I have a lot of memories involving Sweet Caroline and just a fraction of them include the Red Sox. That's the basic reason I didn't include it. And Neil Diamond certainly doesn't represent Boston. That's why the local bands are on the list despite the lack of a baseball connection. But that's just my opinion. To each his/her own.
