August 2008: I'm really pleased with this mix - I was going for a semi-chronological awake-to-sleep a-day-in-the-life of love thing, and it's a more positive companion to "Young & In Love?"
It's a fairly straightforward sappy mix, but here are some of my favourite lines:
01. I could watch the dreams flicker in your eyes, lying here asleep on a sunbeam I wonder if you realise you fascinate me so.
02. when I wake from dreaming, tell me is it really love?
03. we do a whole lotta laughin' at the shyness that surrounds us.
04. you know I’m thinking of you in the bookstore, in the laundromat.
05. took a walk with you and the shadow of my shoes danced around the broken blues in the dirty summer rain.
06. it's not about your make-up or how you try to shape up to these tiresome paper dreams.
07. yeah, she's happier now, see her smile and say, "come on!"
08. 'cause to stand up, out in the crowd, you are one in a million and I love you so.
09. lift your open hand, strike up the band and make the fireflies dance.
10. I take a breath and pull the air in 'til there's nothing left; I'm feeling green, like teenage lovers between the sheets.
11. "do they collide?" I ask and you smile. with my feet on the dash, the world doesn't matter.
12. I count your eyelashes, secretly, with every one, whisper I love you. | I know you're closed-eye watching me,
listening; I thought I saw a smile.
"At My Most Beautiful" = I have no words. Actually, the last three tracks are simply
perfect.
