A solo emcee out of Philly, Beanie Sigel appeared on albums by DJ Clue, The Roots, and Jay-Z before dropping his debut LP The Truth in 1999. Signed to the Jigga man's Roc-A-Fella Records, the title track turned many listeners on to his rugged flow and storytelling prowess. The Truth featured production from platinum hit-makers like Rockwilder, as well as verses by the likes of Eve, Scarface, and Jay-Z. Beanie returned in 2001 with The Reason.
