In 1969, Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood each found themselves free of their bands heavy blues acid rock kings Cream and Traffic, respectively -- which had been experimenting with jazz and rock before collapsing under the weight of multiple egos. The pair ended up jamming with former Cream drummer Ginger Baker, and one of rock's first supergroups, Blind Faith, was born.
