Atlanta Rhythm Section photo
Atlanta Rhythm Section
Originally Roy Orbison's backing band, the Atlanta Rhythm Section existed in the 1970s as a more palatable blend of Southern Rock. Formed of top-shelf sessionmen, they featured a smoother and cleaner production for those frightened by Lynyrd Skynyrd's grizzliness. Processed hits like "Imaginary Lover" popularized the art of "boogie-ing." Never completely successful, the band have recently taken up the county fair circuit.
